Landscape Scouting Vacation

This week, I’m taking a couple of day’s off to do some landscape photography. Since my wife will be volunteering to help a friend with her booth at a convention, I’m posting this so that she might be able to track me down if something happens to me. I am planning on using my motorcycle for this, along with doing some hiking. So, it would probably be best if she knows exactly where I am planning on going.

Day 1 (June 8, 2017)

I am planning on heading out very early to go to Glen Rose, Texas. My first stop will be Dinosaur Valley State Park. I am hoping to get some photos along the river, from a scenic over look, and the Wildcat Hollow waterfall. I am hoping to be there by 7 AM. Depending on what time I finish hiking out, I might hop on my motorcycle and check out some other sights in Glen Rose. I’m planning on wrapping up my visit to Glen Rose by hitting my favorite barbecue place, Hammonds BBQ. Then I will head back home. Hopefully, I will beat traffic.

Day 2 (June 9, 2017)

This will be another early start. I will be taking more rural roads (Highway 78) up to Carpenter’s Bluff Bridge. This is a railroad trestle bridge over the Red River that has been converted to foot and vehicle traffic. This, depending on the time I leave, might actually get me there right at sunrise. This time, I plan on getting home to eat lunch that day.

Day 3 (June 10, 2017)

This day I plan on hitting some places local to the Dallas area. I’m not certain which ones I will hit. It all depends on what time I wake up and how tired I am.
